Some projects are born out of faith, grow from within the community, and ultimately leave a lasting mark on a city. That is exactly the spirit that drives us when we talk about the monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesusin Madrid that we are building in Boadilla del Monte. And today, we want to invite you to be a part of it.

The Importance of Religious Monuments

Throughout history, religious monuments have been much more than just structures made of stone or metal. They serve as gathering places and symbols of memory and identity for the communities that build them and for the generations that inherit them.

Let's think about some of the most famous people in the world and what they have in common:

They all arose from a collective desire to bring to light something that goes beyond the material. A iconic monument in Madrid has that same potential: to bring together people from different traditions, spark conversation, and create a place for contemplation amid the hustle and bustle of the city.

The monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boadilla

The Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boadilla del Monte will be a monument in Madrid that embodies that spirit as a source of comfort, mercy, and hope, taking it to a new dimension.

The project calls for a sculpture standing 37 meters tall and spanning 60 meters in width, which would make it the world’s largest monument to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with a budget of 17 million euros funded entirely by public donations. The proposal blends tradition and contemporary art in Madrid to create a unique sensory experience. The interior will be open to visitors, featuring a 2.5-meter-diameter tabernacle-like heart, from which visitors will hear the beating of Jesus’ heart and see the light streaming in through the wound in his side, oriented toward the rising sun.

A project funded entirely by individuals who believe in what it stands for—including families, devotees, artists, and communities who want to be part of something that transcends the ordinary.

The Ambassadors' Meeting

We want to organize a simple gathering, without formalities or elaborate stages. A space where we can sit together and share what we’ve accomplished so far and, above all, bring together people who want to help spread the word and support our efforts.

If you feel drawn to this project, this event is for you. The event will take place at C/ Doña Berenguela 7, in the Puente de Segovia neighborhood of Madrid, on March 28, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Sculptor Javier Viver will be in attendance, along with members of the Association of Devotees and the Vía del Arte Foundation.

The organizations that make this project possible

Behind every great initiative are people and organizations working with dedication. In this case, there are two that are driving the project.

On the one hand, the Civil Association of Devotees of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Boadilla del Monte, which has successfully carried out the project, is made up of residents, families, and communities who have believed in this from the very beginning.

On the other hand, the Vía del Arte Foundation, whose goal is to bring artists together to promote contemporary art that engages with the sacred. Its mission is to make the invisible visible, and its involvement in this project is no coincidence. The the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church that we wish to build is precisely the kind of work that opens a dialogue between beauty, art, and spirituality.

How to Become an Ambassador of the Sacred Heart

An ambassador doesn't need a title or a specific role. They just need to believe in the project and be eager to share it. Here are some specific ways you can get involved:

Jesus’ arms are open to everyone—an invitation that excludes no one, open to anyone who wishes to accept it.

How to join the Monument Project in Madrid

If you feel you want to take it a step further, every donation, no matter how small, becomes an integral part of this project and supports acts of mercy for the most vulnerable. Make your donation here and become part of this monument that symbolizes hope, unity, and reconciliation.

And for those who wish to continue exploring the dialogue between faith and beauty, the Transfiguración magazine , published by the Vía del Arte Foundation, is the only Spanish publication that delves into contemporary art that engages with the sacred. Each issue surprises with different papers, formats, and weights that invite readers not only to read but also to feel.
